Production at PMS has started
Our workspace at the PMS Group is taking shape. Our co-founder Max has been setting it up for a few days, the first control cabinets and components are already there and the rest will follow in the coming days.
For you, one thing above all changes: we now work in a hall where switchgear has been built for decades, with the corresponding machinery and enough space for several units at once. This means larger projects can be scheduled without waiting times, and we can tell you reliably when your system will be ready.
Transition season: what heat recovery really delivers
Our systems pass the miners' waste heat to the heating system with an efficiency of almost 100 %, and because a lot is promised about this, here is our honest assessment.
In the transition season this takes quite a load off the heating, using electricity that is left over anyway. In autumn and spring the PV system still delivers well while the building already or still needs heat. Precisely in this phase, the start of the heating season can be pushed back and it can end earlier in spring.
How much this adds up to differs considerably from site to site. It depends on the heat demand, the heating system, the size of the installation and how much surplus there is in the first place. Installation costs also have to be considered. That is why a general statement on the subject is difficult and we prefer to calculate every site individually.
If you want to use this in this heating season, get in touch soon, because a few weeks pass between the first site assessment and commissioning.
We are in Vienna twice in October
On 22 October we are at the ÖGNI Symposium in the Ronacher. We won a place in the start-up challenge and will show there how surplus electricity can be used directly in the building. Around 800 decision-makers from the construction and real estate industry are expected; the motto of the evening is “Sustainability: Turning Intentions into Impact”.
A week earlier, on 15 October, we are at the AustrianStartups Summit in the Ottakringer brewery. We present HASHLYNK there with a small stand, so you can find us on site.
If you are attending either event, feel free to get in touch beforehand and we will meet up on site for a coffee.
Good to know: Bitcoin is coming to the banking app
Together with Bitpanda, Raiffeisen Bank International is bringing Bitcoin trading into the banking apps of its network banks. Bitpanda handles the technical processing, so the banks do not need a licence of their own; the European MiCA regulation made this possible. Around 18 million customers in eleven markets could be reached this way. Raiffeisenlandesbank Niederösterreich-Wien led the way, offering this trading directly in its app as the first traditional EU bank back in 2024.
We mention this because it shows how perception keeps shifting. Bitcoin is moving from a niche topic into the app of your own bank.
It changes little about our work, because we see Bitcoin above all as an energy topic. For us, mining is the way surplus electricity turns into revenue and heat.
