HashRack

For commerce & industry

HashRack uses surplus electricity, turns it into economic value and scales with your site.

HashRack at a glance

HashRack uses the surplus electricity from your commercial or industrial site and puts it to economic use. In the Hydro version, you benefit twice because the resulting heat also supports your heating circuit.

With up to 60 kW of system output and room for up to nine miners per rack, it is designed for commercial, production and agricultural sites and grows with your needs, with either air or water cooling.

Our team installs and commissions HashRack, including training. The integrated HashLink Automation Controller then takes over fully automatic control, matched to your actual surplus.

Indicative value for economic use, depending on site, operation and market conditions.

How surplus electricity becomes additional revenue

Electricity, computing power, Bitcoin, euros: HashRack converts surplus energy into computing power, which is paid for in Bitcoin and can be sold for euros immediately or later. Surplus electricity is thus converted into a digital, tradeable flow of value. In the Hydro version, the resulting heat also supports your heating circuit.

Product features

HashRack features

HashRack is a modular rack system for commercial and industrial sites with a medium surplus profile and can be integrated flexibly into existing systems.

Half-open HashRack with installed miners
  • Up to 60 kW system output per rack

HashRack covers system outputs up to 60 kW per unit and can scale through multiple racks for larger surplus volumes.

  • Plug & Play

HashRack is delivered preconfigured and can be integrated into existing systems without major modifications.

  • Air or Hydro cooling

Depending on the site and requirements, HashRack is available with air cooling or water cooling.

  • Integrated heat exchanger

In the Hydro version, the resulting heat is returned to the existing heating circuit through the integrated heat exchanger.

  • Up to 9 miners per rack

Each HashRack holds up to nine miners and can be configured for the available surplus potential.

  • Made in Austria

Developed and manufactured in Austria with high-quality components, from sensors to electrical safety equipment.

  • Fully equipped

Includes the rack assembly with electronic components, miners, sensors and electrical safety equipment, network technology including a firewall, HashLink Automation Controller, piping and heat exchanger (Hydro), hydraulic safety equipment (Hydro), commissioning and training – certified to CE and RoHS.

HashRack benefits

Optimise operating costs

Surplus electricity is monetised directly on site instead of being fed in at low prices or curtailed, while reducing ongoing energy costs. Over a four-year average, returns are around €0.10 to €0.20 per kWh, depending on the installed miners.

Use operational heat

In the Hydro version, the resulting heat can be integrated into existing commercial heating circuits or buffer storage and used as additional economic value.

Modular scalability

HashRack can be extended through multiple units as surplus grows and adapts to increasing requirements.

Applications

  • SMEs

For small and medium-sized businesses with energy systems of all kinds and the aim of using recurring surplus locally more effectively.

  • Energy producers

For operators of larger systems where additional routes beyond feed-in become economically relevant.

  • Logistics

For logistics sites with large roof areas, a consistent surplus profile and limited economic feed-in options.

  • Agriculture

For agricultural sites with ample roof space, seasonal load profiles and a need to use locally produced energy better.

Installation & electricity generation

If known; otherwise we model the PV generation.

Feed-in & remuneration

Ideally state the average of the last 12 months or the expected remuneration.

Several files possible. For surplus feed-in, an annual amount or a usable annual profile is required. PDF (up to 2.5 MB) or CSV.

Consumption

Not to be confused with grid import alone.

Several files possible. CSV files only.

Electricity storage

Self-consumption takes priority. Free PV and storage energy for mining is simulated for your specific site.

HashRack FAQ

Which sites is HashRack suitable for?

Commercial, industrial and agricultural sites with regular surplus electricity from photovoltaics, hydropower or other renewable sources. Whether Air or Hydro is the right version depends on whether heat can be used on site. We clarify this together during the site assessment.

What does a HashRack cost?

We prepare an individual quotation. The price depends on the number of miners, the version (Air or Hydro) and integration into the existing infrastructure.

When does HashRack pay for itself?

This depends on surplus volume, feed-in remuneration, heat use and changes in the Bitcoin price and network difficulty. In the Altholz Bodner case study in Upper Carinthia, the modelled payback period is around 2.5 years. A site assessment provides an estimate for your location.

How reliable is income from Bitcoin mining?

Returns depend on the Bitcoin price and network difficulty and cannot be guaranteed. That is why we use indicative and average values rather than peak figures and discuss all assumptions transparently in a personal conversation.

How does Bitcoin fit in?

The miners provide computing power for the Bitcoin network and are paid in Bitcoin. This creates additional revenue from electricity that would otherwise be fed into the grid at low prices or curtailed.

How long does it take from enquiry to implementation?

Usually two to four months, depending on the site and version.

Is maintenance required?

Rarely. HashRack is a closed system, Bitcoin miners are very robust and there are hardly any wearing parts; usually, at most, seals need replacing. Depending on the site, the miners have an economic life of around four to six years and a technical life of around ten years.
